Lisa and Michael met through online dating over five years ago. “I like to say that Michael got pretty lucky as I was the first girl he asked on a date through the app and needless to say I got a lot of good online dating stories out of my experiences.” By the third date, they both knew there was a connection after staying at the restaurant for almost five hours until the wait staff started closing the place down. It wasn’t long after until they knew they were each others soulmates.
Lisa purchased our Marissa Gown from Alice in Ivory in Chicago. She gives all of the credit to her sister who was the one who made her try it on. Lisa recalls the feeling when she put this gown as beautiful and most like herself.
The couple got married on June 8, 2019. They wanted their wedding to feel like it represented them as a couple. They love to travel and one of Lisa’s favorite gifts from Michael during their time dating was a cork board with a map painted on it for her to put pins in it for where they had traveled. They incorporated travel in their wedding day as Michael painted two new maps on cork boards that served as the seating charts for guests. Each place was a destination that they had traveled to or were soon to travel to on their honeymoon.
As an added surprise, Michael pulled out his guitar and sang “We’ve Only Just Begun” as a fitting start to their married life together. Congrats to Lisa and Michael!
